If you are looking to take control of your eating habits and finally start losing weight, then you’ve come to the right place.
Losing weight is not rocket science. It’s really all about changing our habits. That’s why at TVTopTen we like Nutrisystem. Because it teaches you good eating habits. You learn how to eat right sized portions and at the right times, so you can lose weight, keep it off and live a healthier lifestyle.
And one of the greatest things about Nutrisystem is that they have a program for every person. We are all different and we all have different dietary needs, which is why Nutrisystem has created several programs designed specifically for you.
So, the question is, how do you go about selecting and buying your Nutrisystem plan? We have outlined the various programs for you below so you can find the one that best suits your needs.
1. Women’s or Men’s Program
First thing you have to choose is between the women or men’s plan. This is fairly simple and I hope you guys can figure this one out.
Because men and women have different food intake needs, Nutrisystem has specific meals for both men and women. For the most part the women’s program consists of eating around 1,200 calories a day while the men will be eating around 1,500 calories a day.
2. Nutrisystem Silver
The Nutrisystem Silver plan has been specifically designed to meet the optimal nutritional requirements for senior citizens. The meals in the Silver program commonly incorporate sufficient amounts of soluble fiber, lean protein, fewer carbohydrates and less cholesterol then other plans. Which will allow older men and women to lose weight while maintaining a diet that will help keep them strong and healthy. It is especially important when you are older to not try any extreme diet methods. Nutrisystem provides a slow and healthier alternative for losing weight.
3. Nutrisystem Flex (Weekends Off = Cheaper)
If you are on a budget you may want to test out the Nutrisystem Flex program. It is basically the exact same program as the standard Nutrisystem diet, but you get the weekends off. So instead of getting 28 days worth of meals you can skip the Nutrisystem meals 2 days a week (they recommend weekends to stay consistent) and use those days to eat something different. Some people have even found this system to give them a bit more motivation and the weekends are a great way to practice eating healthy while not eating the pre-packaged meals.
As long as you are not pigging out on those two “free” days you should still be able to lose weight and reach your diet goals.
4. Nutrisystem Select (Frozen Food)
The Nutrisystem select program adds another dimension to your diet – frozen foods. In the other programs all the foods you will receive are pre-portioned and packaged shelf-safe meals. After a while you may get bored of these foods and will want something a bit “fresher” and more delicious.
With the Nutrisystem Select plan you can add frozen meals to your diet and they will be delivered right to your home. In fact, before they are delivered you should receive a phone call to make sure you will be home at the time of delivery. This food tastes much better and feels more like a “real meal” (maybe somewhat like eating a first class airplane meal). And you can choose from dishes such as Shrimp Alfreado, Asian Beef Tips or even desserts like Ice Cream Sandwiches.
And like the standard Nutrisystem diet all the frozen meals are portioned perfectly to fit your weight loss diet.
5. Type II Diabetic Program
Nutrisystem even has a Type II Diabetic program which has been designed to help those suffering from diabetes. The American Medical Association recommends low glycemic diets for those suffering from diabetes, because “bad carbs” lead to high blood glucose levels. Nutrisystem has done all the carb-counting for your and made sure to incorporate more of the “good carbs” in your meals to help keep your diabetes under control.
